PRACTICE AREAS

Couples therapy for all couples including the LGBTQ community. Sometimes we fall in love and then we are in the relationship and realize that we need help steering the ship in a manner that keeps everyone seen, heard and held. Couples therapy is a great way to overcome any obstacles keeping you from experiencing the love that you so desire.

ABOUT THE DARING WAY TM

The Daring Way TM is a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. The method was designed for work with individuals, couples, families, work teams, and organizational leaders. It can be facilitated in clinical, educational, and professional settings. During the process facilitators explore topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness. Participants are invited to examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are holding them back and identify the new choices and practices that will move them toward more authentic and wholehearted living. The primary focus is on developing shame resilience skills and developing daily practices that transform the way we live, love, parent, and lead.

Individual therapy isn't just for those that need to spend time inpatient at a mental health facility. It is also for those that we will call "the wounded well." There are so many of us walking around life with "just a little" depression, or "a touch" of anxiety, yet we are still getting our jobs done, we are still taking care of our families, but what we aren't doing is living life to the absolutely best that we are able to because there are pieces of us that are left feeling unfulfilled. This is what therapy for the individual is for at Westport Therapy - if you're just struggling a little and need someone to validate that for you - give us a call.
